After months of living and breathing Damon Salvatore, Ian Somerhalder has announced that the filming for the fifth season of The Vampire Diaries has "officially wrapped".
Having counted down the days on his Twitter page, the actor who plays the vampire in the hit CW network supernatural drama, marked the end of the season by posting a picture of himself on Instagram appearing to take a nap.
Along with the picture which showed Ian lying on a sofa with his eyes closed underneath a poster of the show's fifth season, the caption read:
"IT'S A WRAP!!!!DAMON SALVATORE AND IAN SOMERHALDER ARE OFFICIALLY WRAPPED-SEASON #5 is DONE. To the most amazing group of people in this business, THANK YOU.THANK YOU. THANK YOU!!!! Thanks for an amazing year of storytelling and thank you to out AUDIENCE-WITHOUT YOU, WE ARE NOTHING... LOVE IAN&DAMON."
