Microsoft and Apple are reportedly planning the construction of several new centers in the Netherlands for data storage , which will help to facilitate cloud services . Various media are reporting that technology giants Apple and Microsoft are entering the Netherlands , in order to build large centers to support the increased load on cloud services in the European region .Apple is seeking development of a center for data storage in the port of Eemshaven , according to claims by local sources and multi-year plan of the Port Authority who has mentioned that a new company will establish a base in this area . Eemshaven , the main point of the network is large transatlantic cable , is already home to one of Google's servers .Microsoft , on the other hand is planning to build data center in the province of Noord - Holland , with a massive investment of 2 billion euros . The company has acquired 40 acres of land near the A7 motorway for a green center . Data Center will enable the energy created in greenhouses which is developed by Microsoft .Microsoft offered a contract after talks with Dutch many European countries . The decision makes sense given that Microsoft already has a dedicated data center for Windows Azure service in Amsterdam.
